Ghut was a collaboration with Nikhil Bejai. First, we started laying out different melodic ideas as the lyrics were first written by Shanan Subhan. Later, we settled on the rhythm and the way the vocals were sung.
I believe that it is crucial to have order in the creative process, so that it is easier to finish it.

Hum Ude was a song written about the first raindrops in May in Bengaluru. My main motive of keeping the whole aesthetic Indian and electronic at the same time was achieved by blending in guitar, synth, bass, and simple Hindi lyrics.

Behejaa

Behejaa is a song about dialogues that I have with myself where I talk about letting go and letting myself flow. Behejaa has a Pop formula with 3 peaks. It was composed with 3 hooks in mind. My approach to writing pop music is to create memorable melodies and this was beautifully achieved by the hook lines - “Panchi ke sang Udja chala jaa..” and “Behejaa Behejaa” which act as a bridge between the first hook and the second chorus. It again repeats at the end of the whole song by giving it a satisfactory ending.
In the bridge section after the second hook, I knew that I wanted to take a shift from the same chord progression. So I composed the bridge based on the melody that I came up with the lines - “Par agar tujhe rona hai”. Rain sound was deliberately put in this section as a metaphor for crying and letting yourself cry and let go like the rain from the rain clouds.

Nasha was a dark track composed with the help of my primary instrument i.e, the guitar.
I used sampling techniques by chopping and transposing audio from Karan Kanachan’s sample pack called Sounds of Bedroom Producers.
The main idea in introducing a different section (00:35) was to add a surprise element to the whole song with a little help from high-energy pumping 808s.

Kiss kodu nanage is a romantic song about me asking to be loved.
The main melody and the lyrics were composed first and then the guitar parts were written according to it. A lot of stereo separation was done in the mix and in the post-processing to bring out the final result.
